Why do religious Jews continue to support politicians who are openly mechalel Shabbat?

Religious Jews' fervent support for politicians who openly violate Shabbat is an absurd problem. Halacha unequivocally declares a Shabbat desecrator an idol worshiper, spiritually excised from the Jewish people. This political idolatry blinds us, making us believe politicians, like Netanyahu (a faker who violates Shabbat), will save us, rather than focusing on teshuva – our only true salvation. Supporting a mechalel Shabbat, who is halachically unfit for any communal leadership, empowers our enemies. Our collective duty is not political campaigning, but kiruv: helping all Jews observe Shabbat and do teshuva, fulfilling our covenant with Hashem.
