Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 23, 2026
1. Introduction and Scope
This Privacy Policy explains how BeEzrat HaShem Inc. (“BeEzrat HaShem,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and shares information in connection with:
- the BH Torah website (bhtorah.org) and related digital services, including our Torah lecture library, our Questions & Answers feature, and any AI-assisted features on the site; and
- the BeEzrat HaShem Torah Hotline, our telephone service that lets callers listen to Torah content, ask questions of our AI voice assistant, and request certain follow-up information by text message
(together, the “Service”). BeEzrat HaShem Inc. is a Florida not-for-profit corporation and U.S. 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Other websites, apps, and programs operated by BeEzrat HaShem Inc. or affiliated ministries (for example beezrathashem.org) maintain their own separate privacy policies; this Policy applies specifically to the Service described above. By using the Service, you agree to the practices described in this Policy.
2. Information We Collect
Information you provide. Content of questions you submit, feedback, and messages you send us.
Account and contact information. Your name, email address, and authentication identifiers, if you create an account.
Phone numbers. If you call the BeEzrat HaShem Torah Hotline, we receive the phone number your carrier presents as the caller ID for that call, which we use to deliver anything you specifically request by text message during the call (see Section 6). If you opt in to phone-number verification on the website, we also collect your phone number and verification status for account security.
Hotline interaction data. Call metadata (such as call time, duration, and the requests you make during the call) and, where our AI voice assistant is used, information about that conversation to the extent needed to operate and improve the hotline.
Questions and AI conversations. Questions you ask through our Questions & Answers feature or the hotline's AI assistant, and the answers generated, may be stored so we can provide and improve the Service.
Donation and payment information. If you donate or subscribe, our payment processor (Stripe) collects and stores your payment details. We do not receive or store your full card number; we receive limited metadata such as the last four digits, card brand, and transaction or subscription status.
Technical and log information. IP address, browser type, device identifiers, referring URL, pages viewed, and timestamps.
Cookies and analytics. We use analytics tools (such as PostHog) and a customer-support tool (such as Intercom), which may set cookies and record usage events.
Communications with us. Records of emails, chats, or support conversations you have with us.
3. How We Use Information
We use information to:
- Provide and operate the Service, including the website, the Q&A feature, and the Torah Hotline;
- Answer questions you submit and generate AI-assisted responses;
- Fulfill requests you make during a hotline call, such as sending a donation link or other information you asked for by text message;
- Process donations and, where applicable, manage subscriptions through our payment processor;
- Send communications you have requested, such as receipts or a link you asked for;
- Maintain the security of the Service and prevent fraud or abuse;
- Understand how the Service is used so we can improve it; and
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms & Conditions.
We do not use the phone number associated with a hotline call, or any SMS opt-in or consent data collected in connection with that call, for our own marketing or promotional messaging, and we do not sell or share that information with third parties or affiliates for their own marketing or promotional purposes. See Section 5 and Section 6 for more on hotline text messages.
4. Service Providers and Other Parties We Share Information With
We share information with service providers only to the extent needed to deliver the Service. We do not sell your personal information. Depending on which part of the Service you use, this may include:
- Stripe — payment processing and, for hotline callers who subscribe, subscription billing.
- Twilio — placing and receiving Torah Hotline calls, and sending the text messages you specifically request during a call.
- ElevenLabs — voice synthesis for the Torah Hotline's AI voice assistant and, where available on the website, audio playback of answers.
- Anthropic and AWS — generating AI-assisted answers to the questions you submit.
- Vercel and Heroku — hosting the website and the hotline backend.
- PostHog and Intercom — product analytics and customer support.
We may also share information if required by law, to respond to lawful requests, to protect the rights or safety of anyone, or in connection with a merger, acquisition, or transfer of assets (in which case the receiving party will be bound by this Policy). This Policy describes what we share with these providers and why; it does not describe, and we cannot vouch for, each provider's own internal privacy practices — please refer to their own privacy policies for that.
5. SMS and Mobile Information
If you provide a mobile phone number to us — whether as the caller ID on a Torah Hotline call or through optional phone verification on the website — we treat that phone number, and any consent you give to receive text messages, as sensitive information.
- We will not sell, rent, or share your mobile phone number or SMS consent data with third parties or affiliates for their own marketing or promotional purposes.
- Text messages from the Torah Hotline are sent only in response to something you specifically asked for during a call (see Section 6) — they are informational/transactional messages, not a recurring marketing or promotional text program.
- You can stop receiving hotline text messages at any time by replying STOP to any message we send, or by contacting us using the information in Section 13.
6. The BeEzrat HaShem Torah Hotline
The Torah Hotline lets callers listen to Torah content, ask questions of our AI voice assistant, and — only when the caller specifically asks for it — receive a text message, such as a donation link, a requested account-management link (if and when that capability is made available), or other information the caller requested during the call.
- We send that text message to the phone number associated with the current call, as identified by the telephone network, never to a number the caller types in or a third party's number.
- Calling the Torah Hotline, by itself, is not treated as consent to receive marketing or promotional text messages; a text is sent only after you ask for one during the call.
- If our AI voice assistant checks the status of a caller's account or subscription, that check is limited to looking up and reporting existing information — see our Terms & Conditions for what the hotline can and cannot do with an account.
7. Data Retention
We retain account and contact information for as long as an account is active, and hotline call/interaction records for as long as reasonably needed to operate, support, and improve the Service, or as required by law. Payment-related records are retained as required by tax and accounting law. When retention is no longer necessary, we delete or anonymize the information, except where a longer period is required by law or for legitimate business or record-keeping purposes.
8. Data Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect information in our possession, including encryption in transit and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. You should also take reasonable steps to protect your own information and devices.
9. Children and Broad-Audience Educational Content
Our Torah lectures and educational content are intended for a broad audience and may be accessed by people of all ages. Some activities, however — such as creating an account, providing personal information, making a donation, subscribing, or using certain interactive or AI-assisted features — require the legal capacity to agree to our Terms & Conditions. Where applicable law requires the involvement or consent of a parent or legal guardian for a minor to do any of these things, that activity should take place with that parent's or guardian's involvement and consent. If you believe a minor has provided us with personal information without appropriate parental or guardian involvement, please contact us using the information in Section 13 so we can address it.
10. Your Choices and Rights
Communications. You can ask us to stop sending you particular communications, including hotline text messages (reply STOP, or contact us).
Access, correction, and deletion. Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export certain personal information we hold about you, or to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the information in Section 13; we will respond within the time required by applicable law. These statutory rights may not apply the same way in every jurisdiction, and we describe them here without assuming they apply to every visitor.
California residents. To the extent the CCPA/CPRA applies, you have the right to know, delete, and correct certain personal information, and to opt out of its sale or sharing. We do not sell personal information.
11. International Use
We are based in the United States, and our service providers operate primarily in the U.S. If you use the Service from outside the United States, your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States, which may have different data-protection laws than your country.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top reflects the most recent change. Material changes will be communicated on the Service or, where appropriate, by email. Continued use of the Service after a change becomes effective constitutes your acceptance of the updated Policy.
