Looking intently at his student, the Beis Halevi challenged his understanding of his own accomplishments. “I thought you were my student! I asked how you are doing, but you only told me what Hashem is doing for you.” The sage clarified that a wife, children, and Parnasa are all gifts from Shamayim, not achievements the student can claim credit for.
