Tracing his steps, the Tzaddik realized the unbelievable truth: he had accidentally switched two letters on the day he mailed his reply. The letter Yossi received was actually meant for another family undergoing tribulation, containing a heartfelt Bracha ve'Atzlacha—a blessing for success. Yossi naturally interpreted this as a direct endorsement and proceeded with the deal, which became an amazing success. Now, the Tzaddik stares at the check, facing a profound ethical quandary. Should he keep the check, allowing Yossi to continue believing that the Tzaddik's blessing led to this incredible success? Or, for the sake of honesty and truth, must he return the money and reveal the mix-up?
