Parashat Vayera: Why fear God?

Rabbi Yaron Reuven explains the importance of fearing HaShem and how it connects to the world today. He believes HaShem is making the world a scarier place to motivate people to do teshuvah. He compares the current situation to Sodom and Gomorrah, emphasizing that even if there were only 10 righteous people, HaShem would have saved the city. He stresses the importance of teaching Torah to one's children and cautions against relying on the righteousness of one's ancestors for salvation. He uses the example of Lot, who tried to protect his guests but offered his daughters to the wicked men. This illustrates the stubbornness of the wicked, who even at the brink of destruction, refused to repent.
