Shiur Torah #106 Tikun Avodah Zarah, Modesty & InterMarriage In End Of Days Prophecy
Rabbi Yaron Reuven begins his shiur by discussing the prophet Bilaam, who was created by HaShem for the Gim to have a prophet to guide them. He then connects this to the dangers of idol worship and how it is imperative to avoid it completely, even to the point of destroying it. This leads to a discussion of the importance of modesty, particularly for women, and how it is not optional. Rabbi Reuven emphasizes that teaching Torah comes with a great responsibility, and anyone who deviates from its teachings is causing others to sin. He strongly condemns those who promote their own opinions as superior to the sages and stresses that it's important to be mindful of the risks and small print when dealing with others, particularly in business. Rabbi Reuven continues by delving into the story of Bilaam and his attempts to curse the nation of Israel at the behest of Balak. Despite HaShem's clear instructions not to curse, Bilaam continues to try, showcasing his arrogance and foolishness. He then discusses the value of Torah study and how it is more important than saving lives, building the Bet HaMikdash, or even honoring one's parents. He concludes with a reminder of the importance of humility and how HaShem's mercy and guidance are always present, even in the face of our failures.
