THE HORRIFIC EFFECTS OF WASTING SEED

Question: Why Is Intimacy Permissible Even When Pregnancy is not possible, (i.e. how is it not wasting seed)? Answer: The obligation on man is for the effort to fulfill the commandment of HaShem, not the outcome. The outcome is only in the Hands of HaShem. Whether He chooses one of the seeds (sperm) to connect with an egg and turn it into a child or not is His business not ours. Our responsibility is to make sure we do our part and not get in the way by violating the commandments. This means as long as the seed goes into the reproductive organ we have fulfilled our responsibility and fulfilled the mitzvah. Moreover, whether the seed yields a child or not, is not our concern. This is why it is still a mitzvah for a couple to be intimate while pregnant or when a woman cannot have any more children due to age or other medical issues.
